Pics coming soon. When they do, I'll replace this text with a link to a thread in 'The Gallery.'The Les Paul mod is done. Without further ado, let's hear some sound samples. You can download the file samples easily here, in their directory.
The wiring follows this homemade diagram: I think it's basically Borsanova's Twenty-Dual Mix Scheme. Just add my name to the list. I neglected to demonstrate the two humbuckers in parallel, so a reasonable comparison could be made. I also neglected to demo the famed 'Broadbucker' setting. This is because I'm a forgetful twit. I'll add those up soon.

asmith- OK, I'll have a Manhattan! +1! First off, I'll say that I truly like the sound of those pickups in combination- and I'm not usually much of a HB fan. And the OOP stuff sounds very useful, there's not nearly as much cancellation as I expect. This is probably a function of the distance between the N and Br as well as the disparate nature of the pickups. But I have 2 HBs OOP on my infamous "Flying Pumpkin", it's the Peter Green wiring where the pups are always OOP in the center position. And the cancellation (parallel OOP) is much more dramatic on mine, but that's a matched set of Epi PAFs. I also noticed the Bridge pup with the tone at 0 sounds much like a blanket was thrown over it. Your diagram didn't specify the capacitor values you used, but I'm thinking you might want to play with that- the next time you open it up, of course! Meanwhile, play it and let us know how you like it. Edit:For those of you more or less new to the Board, here's my original avatar, me and my pumpkin . . . .: I'm not responsible if all y'all can't sleep tonight after seeing that. ;D

Ahhh...the return of the Pumpkin... This must be a special occasion...
Asmith, that is one very nice job you've done. Very good sound files that will serve as an example to the next unsuspecting soul to wander in here...
+1 for a very versatile guitar and a detailed presentation of all your hard work.
Happy Trails

Pleased you enjoyed it.
John, Paul has a Marshall practice amp, maybe 60W or so, that has a clean channel and an overdrive channel. However, on the clean channel, there's also a 'clean/crunch' option. I'm not too clued up on the specifics of the model or the logic of the wiring and channels on his particular amp, but needless to say in the end choosing the clean channel and then hitting the crunch button produced a sound that made us both say, "that is filthy."
