Hi,
I recently built a Fender Stratocaster, but whenever I touch the strings or the tremolo, it buzzes. It has three single coil pickups, but I could only afford a cheap make, so I'm not sure if it's the pickups causing it.
I built it a while ago and just played it as it was, but the buzzing is really off putting when I'm trying to play. If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks

How's your earthing? Ctrl cavity shielding? All intact? Ground wire to trem/bridge? I reckon its more likely to be a shilding issue than a fauklt in the pickups.

maddie, Hi, and to the forums! You've reversed the two connections on your output jack. Just un-solder them, flip 'em around, and re-solder. There ya go, good as gold! BTW, congrats on building your own instrument. You're in the right place to share what you've learned with other budding builders here. If'n you gots photos, you should post 'em in the Gallery. ;D sumgai

Thank you for your replies!
I will do what you suggested as soon as I find the time and when my brother brings the soldering iron back lol.
I'll take some photo's of the guitar as soon as I can. I'm thinking about changing the neck and body though. Not happy with it. I'm a perfectionist, sorry :-D

Now that's a good idea! I'd be a bit worried about what he'd do to the poor animal though

Mad RockerI'm just curious what guitar kit was that? I built a "Stratocaster clone" kit and thought it was fantastic. (Hey for about $100, you can't do better). Anyway, the one I built was a Saga Guitar Kit. Still, I have a feeling if yours has a different name, it probably came from the same factory in South Korea. If (as you said), you are thinking about changing the neck and the body why not just think about getting another guitar? Due to manuafacturing improvements in South Korean and Chinese factories you can get a very good guitar for under $200. And don't forget, since this is GuitarNuts2™ you'll definitely want to try some rewiring on that kit guitar.

Hiya,
Sorry I've taken so long to reply. Back at college and it's just a bit hectic!
I bought all the parts separately. I wasn't getting much money, so I just gradually bought everything i needed and then finally started building it when I had everything.
I'm gonna leave the guitar as it is for now. Don't have enough time :-(
