www.fralinpickups.com/bpssc.aspanyone familiar with this? is Fralin intending this IN ADDITION to standard shielding (quiet the beast style) or instead of? seems like it might give that extra 2% of quiet in addition to shielding but wouldn't be too effective by itself, as it's not really shielding the pickups.

it's not about shielding.
it has a "dummy" coil that's used with any single that's selected, to add an out-of-phase hum signal.
so it cancels the hum from the single pickup.

Chesh started this same discussion, back on May 29th. Is the Fralin product conceptually different from the Suhr method/product? I doubt it. I suggest a quick review of the above mentioned thread before going too much further here. sumgai
