Hi, I have a huge problem, and actualy I don't know where it comes from. When I play my Ibanez RG with the distortion pedal turned on, i have lot of cracking and similar bad sounds when I walk around in the room, actualy when the cable is moved around. I don't know, does it come from bad wireing or something? Or maybe from my setup? It is noticable either when my dist pedal is turned off but is lesser noticable. At this time my setup is
Ibanez RG 440 S-S-H (w/ Dimarzio Steve's Special in the bridge) - the tone pot, the 5-way switch and the input jack have been replaced recently -> Boss MT2 -> Boss CH1 -> Lexicon MPX 550 -> 1979 Fender Twin Reverb Silverface. I tested all this parts seperateley with identical results. I have new Klotz cables, so I can say the cables are ok.
Please guys help me out

slo, Just because an item is new doesn't guarantee that it works correctly! Once again, plug the guitar directly into the amplifier. What do you get? If there's noise when you move around, then either one of three things is bad - the cable, the input jack of the amp, or your guitar itself. Since you plug in various pedals between the guitar and amp, we can eliminate the guitar's input jack - the cable between the last pedal and the amp isn't moving when you do. That leaves only two common points of possible failure, your guitar, or your cable(s). Since you have several pedals, you also have several cables.... try more than one of them between your guitar and amp. If you've still got noise, now you can point to the guitar itself. But if the noise went away, then you can easily identify the bad cable. My first guess would be your guitar's output jack, it's the most susceptible part when it comes to failures like this. But there certainly could be something else wrong, so be prepared to go inside and root aboot until you've found the culprit. But that's only if you know that your cables are good. HTH sumgai

sumgai,
I've tried several things. I've done tests with all cables I have here and the result is the same. I've said that this phenomenon is increased when the dist pedal is on. So there are crackles when I tip with my finger on the cable. I even tried all inputs because the Twin has two inputs (Normal and Vibrato) and again the same thing.
I haven't said that, I'm experiencing this for a while, so I replaced the input jack on my guitar and the tone pot, trieng to find the bad thing. I haven't replaced it by my self, so I don't know, maybe the guy who's done it made something wrong???

I had this once and it seemed to be the cable acting like a 'condenser microphone'. It was worse with the Dist pedal in circuit because of the extra gain. My problem was solved by using a different cable. Do you still get it with just the cable (no guitar) plugged in? Noisy Cable -> Dist Pedal -> Other Cable -> Amp Channelman

Thanks Channelman!
I think I have it now. The problem was in the cable between my guitar and the dist pedal. the Klotz cables are making the noise there but an another cable from a different brand is noiseles. Maybe they have a lesser diameter and don't fit exactly into the input jack or somthing, producing this cracking sound.
