I have some capacitors I cannot work out their values, can someone help me please?!
Big orange boiled sweet type...225P 100V 473k Yellow cylinder...150M .1UF (the M has a strike-through line thru it) Small ceramic...222K (packet says 2200) Small ceramic...223Z (packet says 22000) Tiny ceramic... B 102 (packet says 1000 on it) Green lozenze type... 2A333J
Excuse my ignorance. Intended Uses: 1. For tone pot of 2 HB guitar 2. For vol pot treble bleed in parallel with suitable resistor.
Thanks!

222K = 22 x 100 (last 2 means x100) = 2200 pico Farad 223Z = 22 x 1000 (last 3 means x 1000) = 22000 pico Farad 102 = 10 x 100 (last 2 ...x100) = 1000 pico Farad 333J = 33 x 1000 (last 3 ...) 33000 pico Farad
now if you know that 1uF (microFarad) = 1000 nF nanoFarad 1nF = 1000 pF (pico Farad)
these caps are 2,2nF or 0,0022uF 22nF or 0,022uF 1nF or 0,001uF 33nF or 0,033uf
You might want 0,047uF for humbuckers, so tie the leads of two 223Z caps together and you've got a 0,044uF which is close enough.

You might want 0,047uF for humbuckers, so tie the leads of two 223Z caps together and you've got a 0,044uF which is close enough. j i mean: one lead of cap 1 tied to the lead of the other, the other lead of cap 1 to the other leg of cap 2. Parallel. the letter at the end refer to tolerance and if that really was a Z, then it would be it the +80%, -20%, so the value might be far off. Otherwise use the 333J. Or just pop to the shop for a cap Check the tolerances for the other caps here if it doesn't work. Never encounter Z tolerance caps myself xtronics.com/kits/ccode.htm

All U.S. folk should bear in mind that johan is European and the comma means the decimal point and the decimal point means the comma!

...except if you are in the UK which still counts as Europe, and we follow the same system as the US only we write dates the right way round and drive on the left,,,

...except if you are in Oz, which still counts as UK except we are the other way up, so it's actually May 2007 here, and we drive down the middle of the road (because we can).......

Bullpuckey, yer backwards. Only the Asian's do it right. The U.S. does it inside-out. Today is 20061109 since the date is just the first part of a point in time. CORRECT is: CCYYMMDD and HHMMSS Right now is 20061109:174123 The U.S. is: MMDDYY and HHMMSS (GeScrewy) The U.K. (and U.S. military) is: DDMMYY and HHMMSS (GeBackwards) If ya embed the CORRECT method in all file names at the end thereof <foo CCYYMMDD (and optional HHMMSS).hoo, ALL files will appear in chronological order whence listed, and indicate proper point in time of origin (and hence version thereof). All even semi-clever folk will also embed said file naming in ALL files ever created thus enabling the search/finding thereof! Good (suBtle) one. In the U.S. we drive on the right (cuz we're right), In the U.K. ya drive on the left (I've been there often, it just ain't right), In Oz ya drive down the middle (cuz few actually live there), And in India they drive on the convenient side (pragmatic is)!

...The U.K. (and U.S. military) is: DDMMYY and HHMMSS (GeBackwards)... don't know about the U.K., but the US military has 2 standards: DD MMMYY or YYMMDD. ex: 09NOV06 or 061109 ...And in India they drive on the convenient side (pragmatic is)! or wherever the cattle ain't?
