I want to put a neck on switch in my strat like this Only problem is my switch has 2 pins to put wires to so which ones do I connect ? On the switch one connection is labeled 1, the other 4. Edit : 1 is labeled Positive.

Welcome aboard! Well, if your switch is really a switch (the + has me wondering just what kind of switch it is), it doesn't matter since a switch with only 2 pins is a SPST OFF/ON switch. Now, if you mean that you need to find the two correct pins on your shown 6 pin switch, get a digital multi-meter and measure the resistance between each/all pins for both actuator states. Then you'll know (we'll have some trouble helping you since little can be inferred from your switch drawing). This may be of some help; guitarnuts2.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=schem&action=display&thread=1158705194Doing guitar wiring without a digital multi-meter is like driving with your eyes closed, you may get lucky but.......

It's a SP/ST but I was wondering which wire coming off the neck pick up goes to which pin on the switch ? I'm guessing it doesn't matter now since you said it's off/on only

forbidden, Hi, and to the forums! It gets even easier than a multimeter. Your diagram infers a DPDT switch, but then you correct that by stating that it's a SPST, and that's fine. If there are only two pins, then a SPST it is. It doesn't make any difference which pin goes where. Although I'm a bit puzzled by the pin numbers you gave, that doesn't gum up the works any. Just follow your diagram, it is correct. Now, when you've dropped the switch into it's final resting place, which way does it operate? Up is on? Or is down on? If you don't like how it's oriented, just rotate it 180°! That was simple, wasn't it. ;D HTH sumgai
