Frencie, That's a standard 2P6T jobbie, just what you need for this task. Have you yet to see unklmickey's excellent post on Varitone circuit's of the past? Go here if you missed it. Tyler (gfxbass) also linked to A Varitone of your own, a simpler version of same. That should get you started. ;D sumgai

I went with Tyler's method. Works very well. The capacitors I used are .1ufd, .047, .033, .0094, .0047, 0. There isn't a big difference between .0094 (two of the .0047ufd in parallel) and .0047 so I think I'm going to add another .0047ufd capacitor. Other than that its great. When its on the left (0ufd) there is a nice and bright signal and all the way on the right its very, very dark and proves to be great for rhythm parts. I like it alot more than a potentiometer setup.

i acctually have both(pot and rotary) in an old teisco that i picked up a couple weeks ago. its a wee bit redundant but its a lot quicker to get that perfect sound. im doing one in a couple of p-basses now. also, ive been working on a midrange cut/boost in push/pull form. maybe i can incorporate a varitone into the midrange switch and have all kinds of options.

oh i know, its required for the midrange cut. along w/ a couple of resistors and caps. ill toss up a wiring diagram when i get it done. but im trying to decide if i wanna go w/ a midrange cut, or a bass cut. w/ the bass cut i could get some mighty fine tones for slap.
