As a personal project, I'm gonna build a solid body eletric from scratch..
I plan to carve the body myself (the bit I'm good at) then buy the components and neck, then fit it all together.
I might need a bit of help on the whole "putting it together".

ap, Hi, and to the forums! Like the Smiling One said above, this is the place that will get you over any hurdles. The many continually contributing members here will present you with lots of facts (and not a few opinions!) about how to do something, or what tool to use, or what item to install..... Pretty much, if it can be done, at least one of us has probably done it - even those things that shouldn't have been done in the first place! ;D Just remember the rules, and all will be well: 1) Answers - $1.00 2) Answers that require thought - $2.00 3) Correct answers - $3.00 4) Dumb looks - No charge sumgai

building from scratch, there is probably a good reason why you want to do this to yourself. I have been "building" my project guitar (actually thinking really hard about it) for about a year...
getting very close to bandsawing some wood this week. good luck to you. would be happy to bounce ideas around.
my guitar is a HSH, double-cutaway, warmoth pro neck, mahagony, fiddleback maple top affair. hoping to do some coil splitting, series/parallel wiring.

Im currently in the process of building my third from scratch. I love the reward of playing something that i built all on my own.
Without a doubt the hardest thing is the neck. There are a lot of things you have to get right so make sure you measure over and over again.
Good Luck and get some pictures!
