hi guys...i'm a bit stumped with a project i'm planning on doing in the next few weeks and i'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction with it.
i'm planning on completely rewiring my LP by copying the wiring in my L6-S and duplicating it, with some minor changes, in the LP. I just really love all the different sounds i get with that 6 position switch and want that same tonal flexibility, which i'm already used to using on the L6-S, on my LP.
The problem i'm running into is the "coil". in the schematic i've got in the Les Schatten book "The New Book of Standard Wiring Diagrams" has a "coil" on the tone pot, specifically it going to ground on the pot whereas the other side of it goes to a .01mfd cap which is coming off of lug #2 on the pot. My problem is that there is nothing else describing this coil...no value listed for it or anything. Just that it is a coil.
Does anyone know what this coil is, where i might be able to find one for this project or even a value for the coil? if so i thank you greatly for helping resolve what has been a mind-numbingly confusing thing.

thanks! that was very informative...
so if i understand correctly the coil is speak of is an inductor and i can just pick up a q-filter instead of hunting down the right sort of inductor? because that would be really simple and easy to do.
thanks a lot!
