Has anybody used the "11 sound HSS strat with the no load "dial-a-tap" before?? I think it looks like the diagram I want to go with but Rothstien has two conflicting diagrams, the on-on switch in place of the push-pull has me scatchin over the way the neck on switch is actually wired. Should I wire the neck to the mini on-on first or after the 5 way switch.....I need a experts advice ....check out the two diagrams please. www.guitar-mod.com/wiring/dial_a_tap.gifwww.guitar-mod.com/wiring/dial_a_tap11.gifI want the neck on switch so I can have all 3 pickups (HSS) on at once.

ba, Your confusion lays in the fact that #1 has nothing to do with a Neck-on switch - in fact there are no switches at all. Adding to the confusion, the diagram's author chose to denote pickup color codes on the output jack wiring - not exactly a friendly thing to do to someone who's not well experienced in this field. Follow #2 to get the results you want, it's shown correctly. HTH sumgai

ba, Either one will work as advertised. Electrically, there's absolutely no difference at all. It's just a matter of whether or not you want to use the third terminal on that switch. HTH sumgai

Thanks ...that clears up a question I had for a while. Now let me ask this, it's my second option to use. Could I instead wire the bridge humbucker to the switch instead of the neck? Then have one side of the mini on-on go to the 5-way and the other go straight to the volume pot, then use a no-load tone pot for the master so that when I just play through the bridge the only load would be on the volume so as to have more of a "Brown sound " EVH tone possibly? I wasn't sure if wiring a lead from the mini on-on and also a lead from the 5way also to the same spot on the volume pot would pose a problem like backfeed or something?

This is my favorite diagram I want to use but not sure if there would be a signal backfeed problem from two leads being soldered to the volume pot ? I hope the picture actually posts ...I am having trouble figuring how to attach it...here goes it.

ba, There seems to have been a malfunction regarding your link....... And yes, you can easily swap the word "Neck" with the word "Bridge" - the diagram remains the same, excepting that change. Backfeed? What the...... sumgai

What I am wondering is if I wire the bridge humbucker to the mini on-on switch, then wire one side of the switch to the volume pot directly and the other side to the 5way will the lead from the output wire from the 5 way to the volume pot cause any issue such as hum, buzz...backfeed (interference I guess). Can two wires be soldered to the same stub on the volume pot is what I guess I am trying to say. I want to use the "Acme diagram for Strat with blender" but I want to add a mini on-on so I can have straight up bridge HB with no load on it so as to have the most output. And then switch to my 5 way for the other pickups including all 3 pickups because I want both tone pots to be no-load blenders.

Wow..I just can't figure how to post a drawing of my diagram for all to see....anyways, this is the diagram I will be using as my base diagram...however I want to use no-load blender pots for both tone controls. I will then be wiring a mini on-on for a bridge switch so I can switch to just bridge using the no-load blender which is actually my master tone, so I can get more output from my bridge humbucker. When I switch the mini on-on back so that now I will be using the 5 way I will be able to blend the neck and bridge and also have middle so I will get all 3 pickups..will this work? Sorry for all the replys..wish I could post a pic of my drawing. www.acmeguitarworks.com/pdf/WiringDiagram_Strat_Blender.pdf
