"Series_Parallel Blend Pot w/ DPDT switch" is a switching/blending module. This connects directly to the pickups. In your instance, "Downwards" goes to signal ground. "Upwards" is the module output which goes to the volume and tone controls, which are between the switching/blending module and the output jack. Your volume and tone wiring would be implemented like this: www.fender.com/support/diagrams/pdf_temp1/basses/0193200_02A/SD0193200_02APg2.pdfThe "black wire from neck pickup" would be the "Downwards" connection and the "white wire from bridge pickup" would be the "Upwards" connection. This is kind of confusing since this bass only has ONE pickup, but it's in two pieces so "bridge" and "neck" does mean which piece. StewMac's Free Guitar Wiring Info Link
