I dunno if this fits here, but I'm gonna say pickups and active electronics kindof go hand in hand. Does anyone know how accurate EMG's claim is, when they say their SPC will make a single coil sound like a humbucker?

I bought an EMG DG-20 pickguard assy a couple of years ago. The SPC made the PU's have a similar response curve similar to some humbuckers, but since the magnetic topology isn't the same, it wasn't quite right (IMHO).
I replaced this w/ DiMarzio VV's and the Mike Richardson scheme (w/ neck and bridge phase reversers) and haven't looked back.

It sounds like a clever idea, but I would just assume get a Duncan JB Jr. and, after running it thru a splitter, run it to a non-toggled EMG-PA2 . . . which, in fact, I will be doing.
;D
Incidently, I'm also using an EMG-BTC and EMG-VMC. Your money would be better served getting that combo than an SPC.

I considered the VMC, but I wouldn't want it alone. The only problem is that I've got just two holes for knobs, and one I would prefer be a volume knob... and I don't want to drill holes in this guitar just yet. If ever.
