Does anyone know who took my soul or my will to live? I had to sit through dancing with the stars snuggled up to the little woman. The snuggling I can handle.

deep, Snuggled, as in "arm's reach"? Wouldn't that have the added benefit of giving your 10 fingers an extra pair of nostrils? sumgai

ugh! my mother was watching it when i was using the computer(i had a paper to write for class.) Then on top of that, she kept attempting to talk to me about it. im so disappointed by how shows like this are apparently high on the popularity list. how did this happen?

im so disappointed by how shows like this are apparently high on the popularity list. how did this happen? So those of us who have been waiting 30 years for Marie Osmond to collapse on stage can be satiated. ;D "Reality" TV .... Just say NO! I've never watched it (or Survivor, or an entire episode of hardly any of them). I also avoid the prime time game shows (actually, we pretty much avoid prime time). I did watch Marie collapse on YouTube ;D What's on my PVR? The WarMythbustersHeroesand the like I didn't think anyone watched live TV anymore What's on your PVR?

deep, For the record, I gave up TV while still in high school. Too much to do otherwise, like trying to learn how to play musical instruments and such. (Not to mention girls, cars, amateur radio, etc., on and on, who shot John, blah, blah, woof, woof, etc.) The only exceptions were Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits. ;D To this day, I haven't had a TV in the house, and I consider myself extremely fortunate that the Haus Maus feels the same way about it - no boob tubes here! Consider this: when you're sitting at a computer (ala, staring at the monitor) for any length of time, you're in charge of what you see, right? Well then, why would you expose yourself to a similar looking device, and be treated like a 11 year old? (They say that the average age of appeal for network programming is not even 12 years old anymore.) Sorry, I couldn't get into watching Marie collapse......... I feel for her, 'cause I might be the next one to go! Oh, and in my day, the store was only a nickel! sumgai p.s. +1 for the placing this topic in the "appropriate" sub-forum!

OMG! The gai is a ham! Carl heh....In OH so many ways ;D Consider this: when you're sitting at a computer (ala, staring at the monitor) for any length of time, you're in charge of what you see, right? Well then, why would you expose yourself to a similar looking device, and be treated like a 11 year old? That's what a PVR is for ;D I think I'd rather watch one of my linked shows than be keying it up with someone in Bulgaria ;D (the radios in this house only recieve). But honestly, It is a good thing to not have a TV. We have only one and almost everything we watch is something recorded. Sorry, I couldn't get into watching Marie collapse......... I feel for her, 'cause I might be the next one to go! I remember being practically forced to watch the Donnie & Marie show while at my cousin's house as a lad (they were some of those evil folks with a TV in every room....all tuned to the same channel) I wished many times in those years for all those in the Osmond clan to fall off the planet. While I wish no one evil intent, I did gain some satisfaction in that 30 seconds of video.

Ya, der ham burger(Meister) of der board. ?Dead TV? NUMB3RS (although I'm fond of letters as well). NCIS Me too, but it wasn't by choice. It was an eternal form of punishment for an eternal series of infractions like recreational dynamiting (really). The charter for commercial television was for the "amusement of the audience". Amuse (gr.) "to think for". Any questions? BTW sumgai, a few years back I saw a company touting their new RF modulation scheme www.enocean.com that used " Binary Amplitude Modulation". Now they use ASK which might mean Amplitude Shift Keying. Was that like CW or sumpthin in yer day (back when they invented agriculture).

Well, when I was in the service, they gave me a goofy aluminum-framed revolver in case I needed to shoot myself, gave me a clearance that if disclosed, I'd HAVE to shoot myself, and put me to work with nuclear (unclear?) weapons systems.
Fortunately I wasn't one of those kids (whose mother dressed him funny) that periodically got stuffed into a wall locker in high school.
Recreational planetoids.

OMG - that sounds too familiar... Were you AP?, SP?, Crypto?, Aircrew? (I'm assuming USAF) Those old aluminum S&W Combat Masterpieces were a limited run - worth a fair piece these days if you can find one. Currently watching: LA Ink, America's Most Smartest Model, That '70s Show, Anything with Rachael Ray. PH
