im making a new guitar with 3 burns tri-sonics, master vol + tone (with push/pull to add bridge to any selection), and 5-way switch with usual strat selections.
i was wondering if its possible to add a 3-way tele type switch for series/off/parallel? am i kidding myself? if it is possible, how the hell do i do it?
if its not possible, how/where would i introduce a two way mini toggle for series/parallel?

Bug- Hello and welcome! Your description says you became a member in "Jul 2008", but it's still June 30th where I sit, so I gather you are located well to the East of me . . . It is possible to do so if you can physically fit that switch and the 5-way into the guitar, along with all the rest of the wiring, pots, etc. There are other schemes which will give you some (but not all) of the series/parallel combos with fewer switches. Similar mods have been discussed before hereabouts. Scroll through this board and you'll find discussion of using Tele type switches for series/parallel. EDIT This was the thread I was thinking of; there are others: guitarnuts2.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=wiring&action=display&thread=3354

thanks for the reply!
im making it so i can fit pretty much anything i want in there hehe.
i really like the idea of just having the option of the usual strat selections too tho is the thing. so having the seperate switch is ideal for what i want to do. iv searched and searched all over the place but never seen anything with a lever type switch for series/parallel stuff.

Not that thing again?!? It hurts my head. Maybe this time somebody with a little more patience (and understanding) can sort it out for us.

One thing that might be of importance would be to specify the series combinations desired (which, for three pickups, in total sans phase, are four). Possible Coil CombinationsThere is a Mike Richardson design that gives the following: 1. Bridge 2. Bridge + middle 3. Bridge + neck 4. Middle + neck 5. Neck and 1. Bridge + middle + neck 2. Bridge * middle 3. Bridge * neck 4. Middle * neck 5. Bridge * middle * neck This uses a 4P5T lever Super Switch and a DPDT push pull pot.
