anyone know if a concentric pot could be used as two volume pots rather than the traditional volume and tone?

Absolutely. Regular volume and tone pots are exactly the same thing. A concentric pot is just two of these stacked up. It's up to you how you use them. Two volumes would work fine

Why not two tones? Surely the pots are the same? Would make sense to me to have a two pickup guitar with volumes on one concentric pot and tones on another... Pete
