I am wanting to perform "The Five" mod, by Franco I've got a HB-SC-SC Strat setup. I'm planning to install a push pull volume pot for switching the humbucker between series & parallel, and i want to get rid of the second tone pot to make room for a Quad Overdrive active circuit rotary switch. Any suggestions on how to wire it up?

McShine-
Hello and Welcome!
Sorry I had to move your post, but it really belongs here as you're asking wiring questions.

Hi Is this the overdrive thing? www.axetec.co.uk/axetec%20guitar%20parts%20spares%20pickups_090.htmHere's how i see it. 3 pots: volume one is push pull for your humbucker, two is for the overdrive and the last one would be a master tone. Wire your 4 wire humbucker like this the two wires that come out can be treated like the 2 wires from a single coil (what is called for in "the five") You will need to buy a super switch. "From the positions of the terminals this appears to be the Allparts EP078 switch or the Stewart MacDonald's "Superswitch," not the plastic Yamaha switch." (from the original site) You can get it here www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_pickups/Components:_Switches_and_knobs/Super_Switch.html In the picture franco provided the circles are the switch's lugs, I don't fully understand where the tone pot would be wired in though. Someone more knowledgeable can probably help you here. Apart from that I think you can just wire the overdrive thing right before the jack. Most of this is probably off so wait for a second opinion before you start soldering

For a master tone, simply wire the tone pot/capacitor combination around the outer lugs of the volume pot, assuming the active circuitry comes between the volume and jack.

What do you mean by "around the outer lugs of the volume pot"? Both the input and the output? Thanks

One of the outside lugs of the volume pot is wired to the switch where your switching module notes it. Wiper goes to the output jack's tip terminal. The other outside lug goes to ground (output jack's sleeve).
Wire one outside lug of the tone control to one of the outside lugs of the volume control and the wiper to the other. One of these connections (doesn't matter which) will have the capacitor in line. If the leads for the cap will reach, you don't even need any for that connection.
It's up to you to figure out which end of the pot is which depending on which way you want to turn the thing.
