I just received a nice bit of gear that I want to make into a guitar. One element is a LACE pickup ..... says fender on it and it reads 7.2k Ohms. What position in a three pickup guitar is this best suited for. I am toying with the idea of loading some lipstick pickups into this build as well. I have a 6k and a 8k lipstick. I have a made in China Dano neck and an oddball body ( not sure what this is )... I'll post a pic soon. The body has a routed cavity for a strat bridge and the threaded inserts are in there for a two screw type bridge.
7.2 k neck 6 k middle 8 k bridge
any thoughts

You could try to google around and probably find where Lace thinks that pickup should be in relation to others of the same pickup in a given set.
That doesn't really help here though. Usually, you want the louder pickup closer to the bridge. Unless, of course, it exhibits a frequency response which makes it unsuitable in that position.
Anyway, we have no way of knowing which of these pickups is loudest. Not with the info you've given us anyway. The DC resistance of the pickup tells us exactly the DC resistance of the pickup.(period)
If the lipsticks are from a "matched set" you could probably safely assume (as you have) that the 8k should go toward the bridge. You'll never know how this relates to the other pickup until you wire it up, though.
