I have just added a second pickup to a Squier Bronco bass (Firebird type Mini Humbucker) in the neck position to accompany a Lace Sensor in the middle position. I followed the wiring example given here (minus the tone control): Jazz Shielding Pictorial and it seems to be fine, although I am finding that if I have the 2 pickups running at unity volume, it cancels out the bass and i have a very thin out of phase type sound. Is this normal for a Jazz Bass type set up? Cheers in advance, Gary. (EDITed by sumgai to straighten out the link.)

Sounds like your 2 pups are wired out-of-phase. Try switching the leads (swap the + and -) on one or the other of the pups (not both, you'll be right back where you started!).

hunter, newey called it. .....it cancels out the bass Is exactly the same as I have a very thin out of phase type sound. Do as he suggests, and all will be well. HTH sumgai
