Hi y'all... I've got a humbucker with two wires coming out of it. Can I split this pickup? Or do I need to add new wires? If so, where do I add them/can I add them? Sorry, I'm really new to the mod world so forgive me if this is a stupid question. Thanks.

Welcome kicker. The short answer is you're stuck with two wires unless you just want to do an autopsy to see how it's made.

Axekicker- Hello and Welcome! Gitpeddler has already given you the short answer. Our member Wolf's website has the long answer: www.1728.com/guitar1a.htmAs Git noted, this involves dismembering your pickup. If it's one of those wax-potted, sealed-under-a-cover types, best to just leave well enough alone. If this is a vintage pickup that has some value, or if it has value to you, then also just leave it alone. But if it's an open-coil type and you're not going to be too put out if you wreck it, you can try Wolf's technique outlined above. You might also consider testing your skills on a cheap HB you don't care about first. The concept is simple- you're just disconnecting 2 wires and connecting separate leads to them. The practicalities are the tough part- you're working with very tiny diameter wires that are fragile and hard to solder. Break one, and you've made a paperweight.

Well, I was going to put a link to my website but thanks to newey, it seems I don't have to.
