I doubt it. First, unless you've seen other ads, that's one guy with one pair, hardly sounds like he's moving knockoffs. And, we don't know what the final price will be, either, as it's an auction that still has 6 days to run.
If you look at his Ebay store, he has a whole mish-mosh of pickups of different types, with no more than 3-4 of any given type. If they were knock-offs, he'd have dozens of the same type. And they'd be in "original" packaging, too.
More likely, he's a jobber, who buys up overstocks and damaged items. He's got quite a bit of Gibby and Epi stuff, probably bought up a crate of guitars that fell off a truck or something, with broken necks and whatnot, so he's parting it all out piece by piece.
And, I don't know for sure, but I doubt Gibson is still winding their own pickups anymore, they likely contract it out to some Asian suppler. These could be an overrun from the manufacturer, or perhaps B-stocks that were rejected for some reason.
BTW, I bought some chickenhead knobs from that seller a while back, and had no complaints about his service, although shipping from HK obviously took awhile. Based on just one transaction, he seems like an OK dealer.

I too have bought from there. In my case, 15 slider pots for a very good price. 13 of them work too! (its really hard to find these - 50k log). The working ones are fine, the two faulty ones he was quick to offer to replace. Delivery was reasonably quick too, for post. I think hes basicly oK

i have been noticing similar deals from other asian sellers for a while now ...
checking out his feedback , someone claimed to have bought fake Gibson 57 Classics ...
and i dont know if Gibson still winds in house , but they CLAIM that Dirty Fingers are made in the USA ... at least they DID .
all that being said , i have doubts .... and was only asking , not accusing the seller of being a crook.
i love Gibson Dirty Fingers pickups , and if i happen upon an awesome deal i will pick one up from time to time

Over at the gibson Forums, The customer service staff are quick to remind us that gibson winds in house for that 'true american sound' ( sounds more like a fendery phrase to me though, whenever I think gibson, I think marshall amps, and that british sound)
Also on a recent episode of 'How its Made' the program visited the gibson factory and there where pictures of the winding machines.

yea , Gibson and Marshall do sort of just go together dont they ??
but how much more American than Gibson can you get ? i know there plenty of "better" , more modern guitars out there that cost a LOT less ... but there is just something so iconic about a Gibson headstock.
i think Epiphones are a great value ... but that GIBSON headstock just looks right

I just came across this ebay auction from HongKong: cgi.ebay.nl/Gibson-Dirty-Fingers-Custom-Shop-Humbucker-Pickup-New-/180555118958?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item2a09ec796eScroll down to the Q/A bit. A potential buyer asks if these are USA made. The seller replies the Dirty Fingers are made by Gibson IN CHINA. Now ofcourse this doesn't mean Gibson only makes them in China, they probably make them in the US as well. (It doesn't even mean this is true, but still, it gets you thinking)I immediately checked the Gibson website. Somehow the Epiphone prophecy GX Explorer and Les Paul models have disappeared. But the prophecy SG is still there. And it clearly states the pickups in the prophecy GX SG are Gibson USA. But when you go to the pickups section of the website and find the Dirty Fingers, it doesn't say they are USA pickups at all. So here's the thing. They build the Epiphone prophecy in China. So they're winding pickups in the US, and then shipping them to China, to go in to an Epiphone guitar, while they also make these pickups right there in China? But do bear in mind, made in China does not mean they are made poorly. The pickup winding machine they have there is probably exactly the same as the one in the US. (It's just that we've seen so much junk come out of China, we don't trust Chinese made products much)
