bass - clicking when touching strings?

Hi this is follow up on my last post. sorry if its partly the same but that old post was initialy about something else


I have a simple split pickup bass which i wired myself.

But whenever i toch the strings theres a clicking noise in the amp, and if i strum it happens on every string making almost a crackle!

As far as the grounding and wiring goes it all looks fine.

what could be causing this? I couldnt find anything like my wiring setup on the GN page but youy guys on here seem realy knowledgable and helpfull.

Did you just omit the bridge ground wire from your drawing, or is it actually missing from your setup? The other thing to consider is just doing the QTB -- with such simple configurations it's easy, so you get good practice, but it's also better for your tone. And if the surge cap is tricky to find, just omit it -- you're no worse off then you are without the QTB at all.
