Hi guys I have received a lot of help here and thought I'd pay ya back with my Fav Original track. I'm using an old Ibanez Silver series strat througha Marshall jcm800. My wife is the female singer and also piano player and I'm doing the lead vox. It was recorded in a studio but on a very lean budget. To get a real idea, we could only afford 3 hours to mix each song. Which is madness as you know. Anyway, this is the song I'm proud of regardless of everything or anything!! Hope you like it. soundcloud.com/famularo/destiny-road/

Nice. Very nice. Your better half's voice reminds me a lot of Suze DeMarchi's...but I guess it's an Australian thing...
And I believe there's a solid +1 for you on this one. I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of your catalog tonight after work.

Suze DeMarchi I'll have to look her up, I think I've heard the name but I can't place her. Thanks for the nice comments!
My wife and I have been playing together for a long time and are "feel" players. We have been known to explode 'Live' and get off on what each of us are doing which brings the audience in too, which then makes you go to another level and so on and so on. But we've always struggled to reproduce that energy and power in the studio or on recordings at home because it is so unnatural. But that is one song where I feel we got pretty close to nailing it. There are a couple of others that are OK too, well, I'm not ashamed of em put it that way.

Suze DeMarchi I'll have to look her up... Let me help you: She's married to Nuno Bettencourt, and if you look quick you can see him playing bass in the band. HTC1

So, I checked out your other songs on SoundCloud. You sucked me in on the first song...the only time I've ever heard Groucho Marx and Mr. Ed in the same 4:03...
A very nice diverse collection of solid songs. And Mrs. Peppercorn has a very, very nice voice...you ain't bad, either...but I could listen to her sing the phone book...
If the rest of you haven't popped by it really is worth the trip.
Thanks for sharing and good luck with the album.

Hey thanks Cynical One. You just HAVE to be an American??!! Here in Oz very few people give you a wrap of ANY description! The little bit I've had to do with yanks is that they are very free when giving compliments. From an Aussie's perspective it is a bit hard initially to accept the compliments, because we so rarely get any we think that they are insincere, but I've learned otherwise. It is a very good thing about the American Culture that they don't feel like they are bringing themselves down while lifting up someone else, as Aussies sadly do, in general of course! The "Stop The Rot" CD was recorded at home in the 80's with a drum machine and Clare & I. It maybe dated now, but as you said I think the songs are still strong. Thats why I put them up. Anyway enough of me babblin on, thanks for taking the time to listen and the heart to compliment us. PS If you saw my wife you'd be happy for her to sing you the phonebook to you in a phonebooth!

You just HAVE to be an American??!! Guilty as charged. Well, compliments in America are not always flowing like rainwater. I find myself listening more and more to music on sites like SoundCloud, SoundClick and the myriad of other sites where non-signed musicians can put up their songs. Over the past 3-4 years I've heard some incredibly good stuff...along with the God awful...but I respect anyone who puts the time in to write, produce and put their music out there. And good songs hold up. I heard an 80's influence in a few of the songs you posted. I like the stretched out feel to what I assume are your later pieces. And, of course, hearing Mrs. Peppercorn... Don't mention it. I am always happy to hear someone actually PLAY a guitar around here...versus just soldering another bit to it... These are deep waters in which we tread here... Hey man I certainly didn't mean for that to some out the way it did. I certainly wasnt meaning to sound like I was offering my woman out for some funky liason inside a Phone booth!!
All I was meaning to infer was that my wife looks as good as she sings. (IMO)

It's all good. HTC1

Haven't been around much, but this was the first thread I went to.
Nice work peppercorn. I'll listen to the rest in a while. I got distracted by the Baby Animals. Been wondering about Nuno's whereabouts. I really should surf more.
I get to gig with an awesome soprano, but hers is more choirgirl than rock I suppose. I love that woman tone! Chases the demons away.

The groove is annoyingly repetitive and the mix is too compressed for my taste. Outstanding vocals and solid instrument performances. Overall, very impressive.
