Here is a switch that is very cheap and although not tried, ahve a few examples in the parts boxes around some where... www.altronics.com.au/index.asp?area=item&id=S1450It is very compact and a push button about 1/4" round. Attaching it to a small circuit board and then to the scratch plate might need to be worked out of course. It has quite a bit of switching power however and even has an internal LED (comes in three colours) should you want an active circuit to illuminate the clear plastic switch button. All this for A$2.95... Just thought I would share

I'd had a bunch for a long time now but have not used them...the obvious application was turning on the sustainer.
I was reminded of them from some recent posts that might have benefited from a 4pdt switch but might have been short on space and of course, 4pdt switches can get price-y as well as internally quite large.
They are similar to the kind of switches fender have used from time to time but push button switches never seem to be too practical.
Mounting them is possibly tricky and are small so likely better mounted to a bit of circuit board for soldering.
The action of the switch is of course latching...
