Let me start by asking if anyone knows where I can find all 4 replacement shields for a Jazzmaster, cheap. My second question is this, can I use just regular aluminum adhesive tape as a substitute shielding for a shielding in the jazz master? If so, should they be touching, or should all 4 be separated, only connected by a wire? And lastly, how about some pickups for a Jazzmaster? I heard things about lindy's pups, but I was wondering if anyone had some input on this. I would ideally get something from bare knuckle, but I don't believe they make pups for the Jazzmaster, so I believe I will need to look elsewhere.
Thanks in advance everyone. ;D

Aluminum foil will work, but IMHO copper foil with a conductive adhesive is the best way to go. It's more money, but do it right and you do it once.
Other will chime in soon with varying opinions.

I figured that as much, but I have an entire roll of adhesive aluminum that I will definaltey use on this. (no, not the entire thing, but you understand..)
And how about pups? Anyone have any experience with jazz master pups?

PM, Let's see here..... Ah yes, here we go. If you'll kindly click the linky, please: Let me Google that for youAs for JM pickups, you can do about the same thing as above. But be prepared to pay through the nose, and possibly several other body orifices. Fanatics with much more money than brains have a way of letting their emotions interfere with simple things like values, sorry to say. Non-Fender JM-style pups abound, for reasonable prices. Duncan in particular gets good reviews for his copies. HTH! ;D sumgai

Right, I was thinking something a bit more direct.... And I don't really like seymore duncans pups... I mean their great and all, but not for me.. Anyone with experience using Jazzmaster pickups have some say in this?? I just looked over some of Curtis Novak's pickups. They have a price range that I could defiantly work with. But, if their are any other people who have Jazzmaster experience, let me know your story. Curtis Novak has some pups he modeled after Charlie Christian.. I can't find audible of them anywhere though... But I do know charlie christian was one killer jazz player. I mean killer, totally involved playing style..

Oh, I also found a site where they pre wire everything for you, and you just drop it in and play... minus a few solder grounds.. But my God, they want about $450 for the pre-wiring without the pups. Anyone know someone who wires pick guards like this, but about $200 cheaper?? lol

The more parts you provide them with (that they don't have to supply for the job) the less you'll pay for the job itself. However, check that they can't get the parts cheaper than you can though.

No need anymore!! But I totally understand what your saying about supplying the parts and just paying for labor. I actually have this way out with my tech. No need in him searching for parts anyway (its a hassle for him), and I know exactly what I want in that thing! ANYWAY...... I just won an auction off eBay... Surprise surprise... I found a nice Jazzmaster pre loaded pickguard with original 1961 pots, rollers, and 1 pickup from 61', the other from 73'. Can you dig it? I got it for 356.00. Good deal for vintage parts and the whole thing already done with a pickguard right?? I just need the mounting screws.... And the neck, and the bridge...... Geez, thats literally it... Im on my way with this one boys! I can't wait to post pictures of this reliced beauty!!

Anyone know where I can get an assembly for the bridge made in the US?? I looked on ebay, and searched some stores, but I can't find one that sells the whole kitten caboodle.. Bridge, trem, screws etc.

Well, the trem and bridge are separate pieces, I haven't seen anyone selling them as a complete set. Guitar Parts Resource has all the OEM Fender bits, both vintage style and the more modern TOM style, as used on the J. Mascis JM. I don't know where Fender gets these made. I have ordered from Guitar Parts Resource in the past without any problems. For US made, at least as far as the bridge is concerned, there's the Mastery Bridge. I don't know anything more about these than what's on their website, but they claim to be an improvement over the stock bridges. And they are US made, but quite pricey compared to the OEM parts.

Yikes, your not kidding about those prices newey!! I know what your saying about GPR, but even they are a bit pricy, but not as much as those mastery bridges!! I think I would like something a little more along the lines of looking "Fender"... Witch means I think I would like a Fender or Fender styled assembly.. I have found a few things recently, but they are both MIJ/MIM products... Witch their is nothing wrong with, but I simply prefer the US made products... I've played more than enough mexican and japans fenders!!
