single wafer super switch wiring

i've got this single wafer super switch (oak grigsby) that i thought id use in a strat with a humbucker in the bridge pos. the config i want is neck, neck/middle, neck/bridge,/bridge/middle,bridge. anyone here happen to know how to wire it up with a master volume and a master tone for all pickups ? since this thing has all lugs on one side, im a little confused.

This should help you understand how that switch works:


It's currently shown in the center position. The straight arrows pointing to the end lugs indicate the poles. The curved arrows show how it changes which throws are selected as the lever is moved.

If you can follow my crappy drawing, this should do the trick. Master Vol and Tone are a separate module, wired as per any single V + T diagram. Ground wires are omitted from the drawing.

yes, that wiring schematic i think i understand. i just have a question; on my other strat i used to have, i wired the tone to work on all pickups by wiring together 2 slugs on the switch. i dont see where the tone connects to this thing to work on all pickups, or does the tone just connect to the volume in this case ?

With a master V and T, the tone control is wired off of the volume control. I left off the pots on the diagram, as I said, it's wired the same as any other guitar with a single V and T.

A std Strat has the two tone controls, and those are indeed wired off of the switch. That's a different set-up than what you specified.

Also, you will need to orient the switch appropriately in the guitar; my designation of the lugs 1 to 5 is arbitrary. I show the bridge as position #1; if we imagine that the lever in the diagram is moved all the way to the right, it would be the bridge position; left is the neck. Keep that in mind when you mount the actual switch in the guitar.

According to that, the right half of the switch is wired and numbered correctly. The left half is reversed.

oh btw, i forgot to ask a question! this is regarding bourns pots though.

im after the bourns low friction pots with short and solid shaft 500k:

i contacted bourns and they have no distributors in europe, and us shipping is really crazy.
