Okay, I'm a stupidhead for more reasons than I can remember. I have exactly 2 brands' experience here for the review I'm posting. I will also base some opinions on Youtube videos I've heard.
The stock SX P-90s measured at 9.9k ohms bridge and 8.2k neck. The Wilkinsons I got off ebay for under $20 were 9.2k bridge and 7.8k neck. I have no idea why the SX PU's measured different than in my other post; maybe it was the meds. ;D
The stock P90s were nice, especially the neck. The bridge was a little messy; had all the hotness I wanted, but was lacking in PUNCH and clarity. The Wilkinsons are brighter and clear like thick glass. There is much less noise and with shielding in the cavities there is close to none with high gain, unless you have your head in the cabinet. These seem to make the tone knobs more useful, too. I think she's a bit tickleish.
I'll definitely put this LP clone up against a Gibby LP Special RI now! I recommend these if you have $20 to testdrive some P-90s. It takes a while to get them here from Hong Kong (boooooooooooo!), but I think it was worth it.
