Carvin's cont!!!
I sent it to the old Tech guy (well old is relative, I am 50, he is like 60+) with the long hair (!) about one year ago, for major repair around the floyd's post, the whole area was rotten, so it had to be rebuilt. I made several silly attempts to fix this my self but all ended up ridiculously wrong so he was my only chance!
What I DID NOT like about this repair: - the guy is truly stubborn - he delayed this way and beyond, from Christmas 2017 -> August 2018.... I mean WTF? - he told me stories he was sick, etc etc , operation, might be true - he kept calling me about changing pups, etc while I had told him, wiring is not an issue - then more excuses, more delays - then he added series/parallel push/pull for bridge and push/pull for neck (never asked for that) - he did not ground the wiring to the bridge (trem springs claw) - he originally asked just for the wood repair 250 EUR, I told him WTF take another 50 and reverse the electric cavity!!! ( I consider this a fair price) - then before the delivery he told me to change the frets as well and asked 100 more EUR (total 400 EUR)
- when I got it it was buzzing on 2nd fret.... grrr had to lift this a little but my self - he made the fretboard to have 14" radius but the floyd saddles obviously then were quite off - I had to do them myself (by shimming)
What I liked : - perfect wood repair. No words. - perfect alignment
- perfect electric soldering, connections - BETTER sound. Prior it was trebly as hell. Now it has some bottom end, which is just super!
He also kinda painted it a little and it just looks great!!!

You're a determined fellow. I would have "thrown in the towel" on this several repairs ago, I'll bet you could've bought a decent used one without any issues for less than the repairs have cost. But if you love the guitar, then there's that intangible factor you have to weigh.
It sounds as if the "positive list" is outweighing the negatives at this point, so despite dealing with "a character", all's more or less well in the end it seems.

I forgot to mention : he rewound the mid pup, it was totally broken with one of the two coils (stacked humbucker) missing . I never asked for this but he did it by himself !!! Also, the mid pup : - hums as hell, albeit a stacked design! dont know how he managed this, this must be completely unbalanced - sounds great when played clean and with fingers : and he told me that
He is truly weird!!
But still I am a little bitter that he sold me stories which are not true : e.g. trem grounding not needed . ok accepted for EMG, but Dimarzio???
+ the delay was hilariously long.
