Well, probably not, but...
On Wednesday I went over by their site and saw an article - sponsored by Seymour Duncan - where the experts from SD discussed ways of reducing noise in an electric guitar. Most of it was decent advice about shielding and microphonics, but there were a couple points that were just plain wrong.
The first was the old backwards story about how if the noise goes away when you touch the strings, then you are acting as ground and it means the bridge ground is faulty. The other was a bit weirder. I'm not sure how they even got around to talking about pots, but it said something about how a volume pot and a tone pot are exactly the same thing, and the only difference is a capacitor.
So, of course, I created an account on the PG site so that I could post a relatively mild correction in the comments. I got a reply from somebody saying something like "If you're the noise source, then why does it get quieter when you touch the strings." I replied yesterday with the correct answer, and a challenge to touch the tip of a cable plugged into an amp and explain that phenomenon.
The article is gone today. There is no statement of retraction, or apology for misinformation, nothing in its place. It's just gone. I've received a number of emails from PG since, but all are SPAM. I'm not sure how much SD paid them to post that article, but I sure hope they're not getting a refund!

Good job! I have never read any technical piece on PG that I agreed with.

Deleting stuff, even if it's wrong, without explanation is a bad practice (and something we've never done here). As the old saying goes: "Sunshine is the best disinfectant".
And, while the technical bar at PG is set pretty low, as JohnH noted, I would expect better from SD's "experts". We should check to see if the same article is perhaps posted on SD's site as well.

That was truly amateurish from both SD and PG. Their forum is full of trolls as well.

It's a great idea to check the SD site. I didn't find that specific post on the first page of google results, but I did find this blog post that actually makes my point about the bridge ground a lot better than I did!

It's a great idea to check the SD site. I didn't find that specific post on the first page of google results, but I did find this blog post that actually makes my point about the bridge ground a lot better than I did! "Orpheo" the guy who wrote the article is a semi-knowledgable ego-path from Amsterdam. When I had the initial problems with my Ibanez uv70p, he suggested (without knowing the specifics of my guitar), that if I brought it to his workshop, then the first thing he would do is to enhance the neck with carbon fiber rods. (note : very few guitars have any kind of neck reinforcement additional rods, even 8-string or 9-string ones). Then I told him, that it happens that my guitar already has KTS titanium reinforcement rods, stock by the factory. Instead of being embarrassed the guy went on a marathon to prove that carbon fiber is harder than titanium. That is the cultural level at SD forum. A place dominated with professionals promoting their commercial interests over a crowd of innocent owners.
