I recently bought a 98 Danelectro U2 reissue. The jack and switch were both scratchy, so I decided to replace them. I bought a replacement 3-way toggle from Guitar Center, and wired it identically to the stock switch (at least apparently). This switch is the box type with 3 posts on one side, and a grounding post on the other - like this: Unfortunately, the result is that in the center position, there is no sound from either pickup. The neck and bridge positions work fine... I couldn't figure it out, so I took the guitar to a tech who couldn't figure it out either. The only schematic we had to go by is the 59-DC wiring diagram over here: danguitars.com/59-DCWiringDiagram.htmlI thought maybe it was a bum switch, but same thing occurred with a new switch. Could they have mistakenly boxed an on-off-on switch? Is it possible that somehow the pickups are grounding out in the center position? HELP!! this is driving me crazy

i suspect you NEED an on-off-on switch.
if your guitar is wired like the one in that drawing, it's in SERIES.
most guitars are wired in parallel, requiring an on-on-on type.
this apparently is one of the exceptions.
