Hi All,
I have a problem and I need some possible solutions, please.
I am charged with setting up and running the sound for 3 outdoor swim meets. We have a small cheap pa, that we can run wired speakers too, no problem. This setup covers one side of the pool very well, however, we have some weak spots on the opposite side of the 25m pool. If you have ever been to a swim meet it is very loud and they last for about 4-5 hours. My plan is to buy 2 fill speakers for across the pool and some receiver xmitter combo to get the audio signal (line output from PA - mono) to those fill speakers. Wet deck, many small children running around and high probability for rain in the evenings of the meets precludes a wired solution.
So my dilemma is how to get audio over to those powered, fill speakers about 120' feet away in an environments filled with parents on their cell phones. I have considered bluetooth as they make some of these speakers enabled with that protocol. I have considered a body pack xmitter (I worry about battery life as well as range) for a wireless mic with a receiver at the speaker.
Other thoughts, low power FM? And try to get a speaker that will work with that as well?
Please help. I need to get this nailed down by June 22, first home meet. We have a budget of about $1000, but that has to buy speakers (at least 2), 2 wireless mics, 2 stands and probably a couple extension cords.
Thanks for suggestions, BTW I am in the US.
