Capacitor Bypass Question (Tone Control Switch)

For the below SPDT on-off-on switch,



Is having the switch in one of the 'On' positions going to bypass one of the capacitors? Or to put it more fundamentally, in the below circuit, is the capacitor going to have any effect on the output?

Yes it will short out the other cap. What you're describing is a mod design called a "Free Woman Tone"
