Hey, people! It's been a while. I wasn't sure if anyone had posted anything about this mod. You may have seen Phostenix's video on YouTube. It's a really cool thing the late Mr. L came up with. Just wanted to make this point: While I'm sure you know that, when wiring a phase switch with two pickups on, it doesn't matter which pickup gets the switch. HOWEVER--If you're using the Half-Phase switch, it DOES matter! Since the switch cuts lows as it switches phase, putting the switch on the neck pickup will sound quite a bit different from putting it on the bridge pickup. Basically, you're "eq-ing" the lows out of one pickup as opposed to the other. Do you see the kind of trouble you can get into here? Just thought I'd pass this along. Some of you are quite sick when it comes to guitar wiring, so I thought you should be warned ahead of time.

If you're interested in getting a feel for how often half out of phase comes up, just search for hoop.
You'll find a few posts that fit the search that aren't related to half out of phase but most are related.

It should also be noted that there are two varieties of HooP.
Parallel (PHooP) as you are alluding to here and Series (SHooP) where one pickup has a capacitor in parallel with it but the two pickups are in series with each other.

PHooP in my opinion, is a better strategy.
