Much like the Zero Bux Series Addition to SSS Strat, the following modifications add a couple of pickup combinations that are not present on a stock Stratocaster. However, in this case the additional combinations are parallel. Bridge + Neck and All 3 pickups in parallel. Because the fade-in control was previously one of the tone controls, we now have a single master tone control. This brings some inherent benefits. Position 1 (Bridge only), which previously had no tone control assigned, tends to be overly bright. The additional load of the master tone control will tame this down slightly. Also, position 4 was previously loaded by two tone controls. Now it is loaded by the single master tone control. Fade-in Control:Because we're using a 250k to bring a pickup into a parallel combination, most of the blending will crowded very close to the CCW end of the rotation. Also, there will be some loading, even at the fully CW end. This modification won't be as controllable or transparent as the series modification. But it will get us the additional combinations in parallel rather than series. This modification might be better served by a switch or a lower value (10k or 25k) no-load pot. But then it wouldn't be No Bux. Version 1.0Positions 1, 2, 4, and 5 are affected. Position 3 is unaffected. In the two positions where the Bridge pickup is selected, rotating the fade-in CCW will add the Neck pickup to the combination. In the two positions where the Neck pickup is selected, rotating the fade-in CCW will add the Bridge pickup to the combination. Version 2.0Positions 4 and 5 are affected. Positions 1, 2, and 3 are unaffected. In the two positions where the Neck pickup is selected, rotating the fade-in CCW will add the Bridge pickup to the combination. Version 2.1Positions 1 and 2 are affected. Positions 3, 4, and 5 are unaffected. In the two positions where the Bridge pickup is selected, rotating the fade-in CCW will add the Neck pickup to the combination.
