I think this site was great. I cannot find anything in the internet archives either. I followed the GN site to do a simple bridge tone control start mod many years back, I forgot the value of the extra cap I used and now I don't have access to this guitar. This sucks.
If the original person behind GN could give away its contents in order for someone else to host it, this could be great.
As discussed shortly after GN's demise, we searched the world over, looking for John Atchley. Turns out there are several of them, mostly based in the USA. We know for a fact that the guy we want was located in Australia (by his own admission), so nearly all leads lead to a dead end, sorry to have to report.
JohnA's original GuitarNuts site had been 'hacked' a few times, to which he reacted rather strongly. Said hacking, particularly of his in-house Forum, was the exact reason that GN-member RandomHero started GN2, where we're all sitting right now. (That last bit for new viewers, sort of a two-sentence history lesson.)
I'll bet he set up a robots.txt file that had only two lines;
User-agent: * Disallow: /
That prevented the caching algorithms from various sites like The Wayback Machine from ever storing GN for posterity. Sad, that.

Come on, stop pestering me. Can't you see that I'm busier than a cat trying to cover turds on a marble floor?
