Looks like a clean install, congrats on the job! thanx, they look ok on the daylight, but I'd like them more light in color, in a dark room I can barely see them. + they don't glow at all in the dark, no matter how much I tried to "charge" them. I hate to do it, but I might remove them, and do something more fancy.

Its just a stick, I don't think there is up/down. ... I might leave them as they are. They do their job.

Yeah, newey's right. If you don't like it now, you're really gonna hate it when you screw with it.
I wish I would have caught you earlier. By complete accident I found the best side fret markers. #10 copper wire.
Let me explain. I was getting ready to finish the maple neck on Project #2 in Wisconsin. I didn't feel like waiting for the air lift of yet another guitar part into the frozen tundra, so I started looking around the farm looking for a suitable substitute for the plastic roundstock typically used.
While rummaging through the old grainery I found an old disconnected fuse box. Inside was some ancient cloth covered #10 wire. It was 0.10190" (about 2.6mm) in diameter...hmmmm...
I cut off about a foot, stripped it and cut it into short pieces. A little glue at the bottom of the hole, a little tap with an upholstery hammer and some quick work with a file and they were ready to finish.
I had pictures of them installed, but Botophucket and Mirageslack have left the building...so...
The cool thing about them is they're dark in the light and will pick up and seem to almost glow as they reflect the slightest light source.
Anyways, nice job on the fret markers, Greek.

HTC1 of course it is not late Cyn1, because simply I couldn't stand them and removed them already, specifically today I just burned the tip of a push pin, inserted it in each of the dots, it melted inside, left it there for some seconds to get cold again, pulled it out, and so forth with the rest. Some went out quite easy, others wanted a little more effort. The nice thing about those previous ones was that they were easy to get them out. Ordered some white mother of pearl already cut at 3mm, and about 1.3mm thick. Since the holes I did was variable depth, I will just fill the holes with black wood putty (water based) and just make some room for 1.3 ~ 1.5mm for the new dots to sit. The copper trick was awesome, and quite good for maple I guess, but maybe they would look too dark in ebony, what I could have done, (and would do if the consumer demon in me hadn't pressed that "Buy it now" button in ebay) is make the holes really shallow , and then paint with some thick white permanent marker, which would create some fancy effect like you know the "target" icon, cause it would paint the top of the hole and the center of the bottom but not the sides in the lower part . Let it dry and then maybe apply a drop of thin CA glue, let it dry and then work with some 2000-grit sandpaper, and then with thin steel wool --> extra thin 0000-0000 steel wool.

Just filled the holes up to 1.5mm depth with black wood putty (same color as ebony, but it doesn't matter ). Lets see how the white mother of pearl will look like. I have a slight fear about Newey's and Cyn's pessimistic prediction , but I'll role the dice (once again . I think its gonna be good. Fingers crossed.

Photos or it didn't happen . . . Seriously, I hope it all works out okay in the end. I still would have left "well enough" alone. But, then again, I'm not our resident Greek Dude

The new dots arrived, and they seem marvelous!!
Maybe they won't glow in the dark (heck WTF did I need this anyway in the first place), but they surely look good in daylight ....
photos soon ..

Dots are great. Much more visible than the previous ones. Even in the dark. My installation work so and so.

Looks fine from the photos. One looks a good deal brighter, at the 7th fret, but that's probably a flash or lighting issue.
