And by US, I mean the United States.
If you don't live in the US, that's okay. You're welcome to attend the party, too.
Two Hundred Forty-Two years ago, our forefathers united to declare their independence. Over the ensuing years, they created the structure for a nation. With relatively few alterations, that structure endures today. This country isn't perfect but it's pretty darned good. I consider my self fortunate to live here.
I'm grateful to those who serve us... our military, police, firefighters, first responders, even the garbage men who perform the dirty job that someone has to do. The doctors who heal us, the educators who teach us, the farmers who feed us, and Joe Lunchbucket who keeps our factories churning.
Unfurl Old Glory. Chill down your favorite beverage and fire up the grill. Let's get this party started!
Here's a little music to put you in the mood. It's a familiar tune, but you probably haven't heard it quite like this before.

From up here in the Great White North (a.k.a Canada):
I hope you celebrate your fabulous country with pride today. We celebrated Canada Day here only a few days ago on July 1st.
We Canadians can appear smug at times but we cannot expect to match the huge list of achievements that the US has and we should be proud of our friendly neighbors to the south of us, as you all should be. We are very blessed to share North America together, with the abundance of resources and the freedoms that we all have within our two societies. We could not expect to have better neighbors (spelled 'neighbours' up here), and it really is just like we are one big family.
I would not have it any other way, and living here together with “ya’ll” is truly as good as it gets on this planet – Trump or no-Trump.
To our very, very good friends: Enjoy your celebrations!

(spelled 'neighbours' up here) Or we could say down there. If one is in Downtown Detroit, they have Canadian neighbours to the South. Just a little geographic trivia. This year marks the 60th time Detroit and Windsor have officially celebrated together. (Tissues are available in the lobby if the following video brings a tear to your eye.)
