For those of you who aren't preparing for a joyous Christmas celebration, I have some bad news, and some worse news. Now normally, I don't get into politics much, I avoid it on a visceral level. But I do pay (lots of) attention to laws, and particularly those that attempt to thwart the Laws of Mathematics... i.e. The Internet, and how it works. The short version of all this is that Australia has just passed a Federal law that essentially breaks encryption, especially on The Internet. I leave it to you to Bingle for further information, I'll not try to guide you in any particular direction. However, one presumably upset person posted this summation: US: Nobody can do anything more embarrassing than us. Just look at the 'president' we've elected. Australia: Here, hold my beer, and watch this.... (Not that I usually employ deprecating stereotypes, but this was too good to pass up!) sumgai

Yeah...a number of us are less-than-impressed with these developments (and also the persons behind it)..
Goes to show there is no such thing as a monopoly on idiocy in this World.
....now watch it spread.

In the western block (which means all of the world minus 2-3 countries), NOTHING is random or accidental. I have my theories about Trump as well, which is of course nothing like the average left VS right narration we know of.
