As reported in Rolling Stone: www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/most-mysterious-song-on-the-internet-885106/If the whole of the internet can't solve this mystery, I doubt we'll have any success hereabouts. But it's an interesting story. My first take on it was that it was Russian, singing in (a bit stilted) English, probably anonymous from the outset- rock and roll could get one in trouble in the pre- Glasnost Soviet Union. I can imagine a surreptitiously-recorded tape smuggled out to the West, sort of like a demo "Here's what we're doing over here, despite government censorship". And, while it's not the greatest song in the history of pop music, it's not bad. It would be great to do a cover of it - maybe JFrankParnell's band can work up a version.
