Hello there! I'd like to ask if anyone here had a similar issue/problem with Fernandes Sustainer system? Let me describe the issue... When ON (sustainer mode), the Neck pickup functions as a driver, the Bridge functions as the pickup. The 5way pickup selector switch is bypassed. In this mode, it sounds good and fine. When OFF (normal / 5-way pickup selector mode), the Mid and Bridge pickups sounds good. But when I switch to the Neck pickup (which is also the driver in sustainer mode), I'm hearing a slight overdriven sound on top of my normal guitar tone. The tone is also somewhat muddy (less brightness compared to my Mid and Bridge Pickup). I'm thinking that this is a Driver problem. But I'd like to understand why is it still functioning well in the sustainer mode? Do you have any suggestion on how can I test the pickup? Perhaps using it as a passive pickup? It has 3 wires, black white and pink. Do you have any resistance measurements so I can compare my driver? Here is a photo: I tried asking Fernandes but they are only suggesting me to replace the driver. I'd like to understand what's the real problem and how did it occur. I want to be sure that the fault is really in the driver and not the board so my next purchase will not be wasted. Thanks!
