Hi all. New member, I am.
Doing some mods to fix a defective 'Push-Pull' pot, or may have been a wiring mod gone wrong from my local guitar tech.
Here's the goods:
89 Vandenberg (pro mod for 2 HB) Bridge P/U: Seymour Duncan JB Neck P/U: Dimarzio PAF Pro
1 Tone Pot (push pull) / 1 Vol Pot
What I'd like to do is to install an SPST switch to accommodate a coil-cut on the PAF Pro (neck P/U). I'd like to run the two coils in series when the switch is closed. However, when the switch is "open", I only want to run one coil in "series" (there is no other way right). The only schematics I've found show a coil split for two hums, and the schematic sent to me by Dimarzio tech support doesn't really match the one from their website (by the same description). I want to stay with an ON/ON switch (a 2 position) for the coil tap, and NOT a 3 position.
BTW - replacing the Push/Pull with a 500K "regular" tone pot.
Could someone provide a "link" to a previously posted schematic or explain to me the "would-be" simplicity of this modification??
Much appreciated.

Welcome "aboard" vandyman.
Since your post is a wiring question and not a self-published schematic, I've moved your post to the "Electronics and Wiring" section (where it's much more likely to be read by many folk).
While a SPST switch is often used for coil splitting (shorting, really), it normally just shorts across the undesired coil.
I prefer to use a SPDT switch, not short out a coil (tone/sustain robbing it is), and select either both coils in series or one coil alone. You really can't have one coil in series, it's just one coil. One can run either coil alone, both coils in series (normal humbucker), or both coils in parallel (brighter, quieter humbucker). This assumes a four wire plus shield pickup.
If shorting out a coil is OK with you, one can use a SPDT center off switch and realize the top coil, the bottom coil, or both in series.
Or, use a push pull pot for the volume also and "split away"!
There are many, many other ways to realize many things.
I don't have any links to schematics for anything per se since I've spoken schematic from the cradle. As a result, I tend to discuss at the concept level, expecting others to learn "about" (teach a man to fish....)
