I'm looking at possible wiring for a tele as set out below. Combines elements inspired by the early Tele and Esquire wirings, including a 'blower' option for the Bridge and a Neck blender. I'm proposing to do it with a 250k linear tone pot. Got the idea from ChrisK's free Neck on switch. Position 1 - Neck with Tone and Volume Position 2 - Bridge + Neck, with Tone (Special) and Volume Position 3 - Bridge, direct out (no Tone or Volume) In Position 2, the Tone pot fades out the Neck as you roll back from 10 before acting like a regular tone control. So you have some 'Nocaster' blending at the 10 end, before regular Bridge pickup with Tone towards the 0 end. This is why I plan a linear pot. Position 3 is direct out for the Bridge without Volume or Tone. I know that the early Esquires had a Tone bypass position. I don't believe they ever bypassed the volume, that's my add-on to make it into a proper 'blower' position. You could add a third knob and have a second, separate volume control for the Bridge but that would mean not stock parts any more. Here's the diagram. Any thoughts or comments, welcome.
