That is an absolutely gorgeous guitar cynicl1. That top leaves me speechless...but not for long . Yeah, I don't think there's any better way to hide that glue seam than with one of those strips, or maybe a strip of some dark wood. You might also add a strip on top of the neck pocket just so it looks symmetrical. You might even do a binding (at least on the neck) just so it doesn't look like you were fixing a flaw. Just an idea. I just wanna say one more thing about the finish. I'd inquire with your luthier if they think it's worth using Tru-Oil on the body and or neck rather than just thinned poly. My guess is the oil in the finish will give it more of a warm patina. Oil refracts light in an appealing way. I'd also consider using oil-based wood dye, and then spraying 2k over 2 or 3 Tru-Oil coats. Your Luthier might have advice on that, and I'll leave it to the pros from here on. Love to see some of your finished work.
