;D I have the wiring and pots etc from a new Made in Mexico Telecaster...... The old Tele body had three lugs (1 in each cavity) that the ground wire from the respective pickups or control electronics went to , and then back to the volume pot. At each lug point there was shielding paint underneath The questions are: 1. Do I need to replace these lugs in each cavity(with shielding paint underneath) in the new body or do I just take the ground wires direct to the pot and forget the lugs? 2. If I need the lugs, do I need to paint shielding paint throughout the whole body cavity or just underneath the lugs? Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance!

you don't NEED the lugs.
you COULD just take the ground wires directly to the pot.
your guitar will probably have a little more hum without shielding paint or foil in the cavities.
probably not so noticeable when playing clean.
but if you use lots of gain for a heavily overdriven sound, when you stop playing the increased hum will be obvious.

Thanks The original post lost some of the info in it. The new pickups will be those Fender SCN noiseless pickups - guess that will get rid of some of the noise and hum?
