hi guys, help me identifying this pickup, i know it's not lot but as you see it has two wires (might be a replaced wires) 10.96 output, mij-ish screw legs (small ones) , metric pole screws and the bump in the middle (where output is marked) can say something to someone who knows this stuff... could it be fakebucker ? all the fakebuckers i've seen has around 4-7kohm ouptut .... if it's fakebucker i woud be verry happy with output, though i think this bump in the middle is where the magnet sits, i've never seen this kind of thing on any other pickup so i thought it might be a hint. anyway thanks in advance

I hoped youd show up i dont think its a fakebucker cuz of middle magnet line, though yea they look nearly identical, for a fakebucker it has a lot of output considering one coil and its age so my best guess is its a humbucker, would be a bummer if i open it up and see a replaced coil... Dont care about the wire though, not much of a purist

I don't think that's a magnet line, just a shape they've pressed in the metal to suggest that a magnet might there. I'm certain the pickup is made by the same OEM, because the lead wire holes beside the legs and the filister screws are very distinctive as far as PAF clones, there's little chance of two pickup makers having done the same things in that regard.
The non shielded wire and the the 12k DC resistance seems to suggest that someone opened up the case and stuck a real humbucker in there. It's uncommon to get such a high DC resistance from a single coil. I'd bet it's really prone to feedback.

Mm good point, why feedback though?

Mm good point, why feedback though? Because it's not likely to be wax potted and the cover will be electrically reactive with the coils inside, causing the cover to act like a microphone. I suspect they're a lot like these Chinese pickups underneath, just an open air cavity that will allow for it to be readily microphonic.

Why do you think that its replaced though, could be only wires?

Why do you think that its replaced though, could be only wires? Yeah unshielded single lead wires from the pickup is extremely uncommon, I've only ever seen Fender do it, and companies that are copying Fender. It looks like the sort of spare wire a person might have an home for low voltage applications, like a doorbell or a thermostat.

Well, with your wisdom i ditched this pickup and went with hofner h515 humbucker, it appears to be their take on paf, though it's discontinued so i can't find info, indurance, spacing, etc... Except output, though i'm a sucker for that engraving on cover... Did you ever came across those? It's an aftermarket one, i wonder if they ever used it on their higher end models, with my searching skills i literally couldn't find anything more than output, no demos no info, nothing, i guess i'll have to wait for it to ship in another country where my friend lives and then to me, though i don't have a multimeter which shows indurance o0

I'm happy to hear that you didn't pay money for that pickup, it looks like a home made experiment of a pickup. Anything more than $5 would have been too much. It would have oddity value if it were still in stock condition, but I'm 99% certain it's not.
