Hi again. I posted a few months ago about a proposed wiring job I was going to attempt. Well, I tried it and ran into a wierd problem. Hopefully one of you wiser than a wiring newbie like me can figure it out. I'm wiring up a Strat with two humbuckers, a three way switch for pickup selection, a master volume, and a tone control for the neck pickup only. I'm also putting in a 4PDT on-on switch that I'm trying to use to change the pickups from series to parallel operation. I've got it all wired, and everything works except one thing. When I have the neck pickup in what I think is parallel mode, I don't get any signal. The bridge pickup works fine in both series and parallel, and in the middle position the same holds true - when I put things in parallel I get signal from the bridge but not the neck. I tried this yesterday with a pickguard for a guitar of my own and it did this. I figured that maybe I burned out one of the switch positions on the mini switch. I tried it today in an identical setup for a guitar I'm building for a friend, and it did the same thing. Thoughts? Here's a picture of how I wired it up. The neck pickup is a Dimarzio PAF Pro, and the bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan Full Shred. I reversed the green and red wires on the Dimarzio because I was advised that the pickups would be out of phase in the middle position if wired regularly.

It seems that in parallel mode, the DiMarzio pickup would just "short out". In series mode, the DiMarzio pickup would be out of phase with itself and with the other pickup. You should not have reversed the green and red wires. Connect the red wire where the green wire is now and connect the green wire where the red is now. Doing this should solve the problem.
