Hey.
I've been looking around, and I can't find the way to wire my humbuckers the way I want to. Maybe some here has knowledge about it.
I got two Seymour Duncan humbuckers, a 5-way switch(8 pins), 1 vol, 1 tone.
I want it to be:
- Neck full - Neck split - Neck full + Bridge full - Bridge split - Bridge full
Anyone who knows? I found one, but I think it's the wrong colors. I tried wiring it after the diagram(one color was of, it was cyan instead of white), but that was way wrong.
Thanks in advance! 🤘

norwegianguitarist- Hello and Welcome to G-Nutz2! cynical1 is correct, you'll need a more capable switch. A Superswitch™ would certainly do the trick, but I think the so-called "half superswitch" (a true 2P5T switch) could do it as welll, although we'd have to put pen to paper to be sure of that. A standard Strat-style 5 way switch is a 2P3T switch, with 2 "in-between" shorting positions at #2 and #4. So, at #2, you would get the combination of #1 and #3 (which wires the neck HB in twice, but it's still just Neck HB + Bridge HB). And, at #4, same thing at that end. To split the coils at 2 and 4 necessarily also means splitting them at 3, or having a dead spot there. Question: As this guitar is wired now, what are the positions on the 5-way switch doing? A regular Strat-type 5-way switch wouldn't be a usual switch choice for a 2 HB guitar. Pretty much any scheme I can envision would have a dead spot at 3, or the coils would be split at 2, 3 and 4 for both HBs, so redundancy. Now, I've learned to be careful about saying a certain wiring scheme couldn't be done, as I've been proven wrong by the brighter lights around this place, and on many occasions. But I'm pretty sure I'm right on this.

A regular Strat-type 5-way switch wouldn't be a usual switch choice for a 2 HB guitar. Agree. There is however the "2502N" switch that's used on some Ibanez guitars (e.g. RG7421) and some models of the Fender Showmaster. Despite masquerading as a typical 8-terminal import switch it offers completely different switching (as seen in the link) — this is typically used to give both inner coils in position 2 and parallel neck coils in position 4. So, does this switch function in the same way as the one mentioned above? (Was it original to the guitar, and if so what were the stock pickup selections?)

The switch was originally on this guitar, but it was an SSS. I'm not home at the moment, but after wiring it up after the diagram I found, I think it gives me a combination of fulls and singles, all in a chaotics mess. So it's definitely wrong. It seems like I have to buy a superswitch. Was just hoping this would work, both because it's the original, but also som I didn't have to wait to get a new switch. Oh well...
