Hi- Just refinished an old Hondo II tele. I dont care what anyone says, this guitar played sweet. Maple neck was great for a jap guitar. Anyways i installed stock fender american pickups in and re-wired with stock schmatics, but i seem to be having a hell of a lot of buzz. I plugged my les paul into my Marshall avt20 to check for an amp problem, but doesnt seem to be it. I grounded all the wires correctly ( i think) but i didnt shield it at all, and the bridge pickup doesnt have a metal backing. Any ideas on what the problem is? I assume it may be a sheilding issue becasue when i touch a string or the input jack, the buzz significantly reduces. If it is a sheilding issue, can i sheild the cavitys with aluminum foil? Any comments or answers would be great!
Thanks guys- Dan

It sounds like it's not grounded properly. If you're touching the strings, you're the thing that's grounding the guitar.
