i doubt photobucket... use rapidshare. NO! Anything but rapidshare!!!!!!!Rapidshare attempts to snoop through your computer, and see what it can report back to headquarters. My protection schemes sound all kind of alarms when I attempt to read anything on this website. I can just imagine what goes on when you sign up and actually upload a file to them. If you are having fun using rapidshare, fine, more power to you. But when your machine goes TU, or becomes a DDOS zombie, or you find your social security number for sale on some warez site, and those special nekkid pictures of your girl friends suddenly pop up on RateMyRack...... don't come running to me, I'll just look at you and say "I told you so". ~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~ extra_string, try FileCabin.com, they'll let you upload any kind of file. Yeah, they had a problem for a few weeks earlier this summer, but they worked fine for years before that, and they've been working fine since then, so I recommend them highly. BTW, you do know to use the [ url] and [ /url] to correctly identify the links to your posted mp3 files, right? (Remove the spaces, when you type them in, or copy them from here.) By default, FileCabin will give you the links in a new window, you can copy them right from there into a message window here. HTH sumgai

What i do is to use the webspace that comes free from my ISP, with my email account. Im not sure if that is common in other countries, but its very handy for putting up files, using a free ftp program.
The great thing about free stuff is you don't got to pay for it.

GBU.

yeah if you have the skills to use ftp, then the free webspace that comes with your net account at your isp is the best way of all to share the mp3 of your pickup sounds.

ss,
That 500 server error isn't from FileCabin, that's a standard HTML error code. It's pretty generic, but the bottom line is, it couldn't report an exact error to the requestor (you/your browser), so it just sent a "covers-all-bases" error message.
If you keep getting this, there could be a number of reasons. But since you mention it....... blacklisting certain countries has become the norm for some file servers/file sharing servers that are open to the public. cc is right, where are you sitting, and I'll look it up to see if you're on the "naughty" list. ;D

cc, Thanks for the vote of confidence. But I really do have to say that there are other servers out there that probably do almost as good a job. Photobucket being the most popular that I can think of, but they have some limits that FileCabin doesn't have, that's why I went the FC instead.

J Nothing wrong with this, except that free or otherwise, no ISP gives any user nearly unlimited server space and bandwidth. One might argue that the file sharing servers also have limits, there's no comparison, it's like night and day. But when it all comes out in the wash, what are you gonna do when you've reached your ISP's limits, either for server space or bandwidth? If you delete old stuff, you run the risk of rendering your old posts null and void when new forum members are referred to them! But yes, I do use my ISP's free webspace to cough up my personal website, (Currently down, and will be until maybe Xmas!), so I know what you mean. sumgai

Sorry for the late reply, i've just out of my city. @cc & sg: Sorry i can't tell you, even though my country was bad, but i won't disgrace it I used another alternative: free websites, it's only 20MB though but it was enough. here's the url: www.angelfire.com/jazz/ring/GN2demo/index.htmlGBU.

ss, 'Sfunny, I don't recall ever seeing anyone here call another country 'disgraceful'. Anyone here recall such a thing, on these boards? But that's OK, if you won't/can't/don't want to reveal your country of origin, we won't force the issue. And for what it's worth, no country is bad, in and of itself. There are some countries with a disproportionately high number of bad people in them, but that doesn't make a country bad. But enough of politics. Angelfire works pretty well, but it has a 20Meg limit, and a very restrictive bandwidth limit too, IIRC. Photobucket is much better, but FileCabin is tops in the league, their limits are almost infinite, by comparison. As it happens, they are suffering another problem right now. I'm not getting a '500 Server Error' notice, but I am getting one of their error pages, stating that the upload script failed. That's about the same thing that happened a few months ago, so I think they'll have it fixed in another day or two. In the meantime, if you just want to post a file that will only be used (viewed by others) for a few days, you can upload it anonymously from the front page. The instructions are about half-way down, you'll see them. Be sure to copy the link to somewhere safe on your machine, you'll need it later when you post it in a forum, like this one. ;D HTH sumgai

Hahaha...forget about where i came from . I know that angelfire are slow, but my files were not more than 700KB each, so just be patience and you can feel how's the slow connection feels, like mine....hahaha...LOL @sg Finally i can upload to the FC, so i'm not in the naughty banned list but, i can't get the correct url to share the files. When i clicked on the filename it's always gone to the index page and show: File not found..... GBU.

Good to hear that FileCabin is working for you....... sort of. On the left side of the Upload dialog page, there is a checkbox called "Create tags". Do you have that checked? If so, then after you upload (successfully), you should see a new page that displays the image tags for you to copy. Are you getting that second page with the tags? If so, then copy the tags to your computer, then paste them into a Reply form in one of these threads. Now, when you hit the Preview button (below the textbox in the Reply), you should see the images. If not, is there a "placeholder" image where your image should be? That's enough for now. If you still aren't having any luck, let us know. sumgai

Nice MP3's !! Thank you seventh string.
I really feel that it's a great thing when you invent a new wiring schematic, to produce the MP3's of the main important combos... because it so helps to expose the actual sounds that come from the design.. and further our art even faster and better.
