Howdy all...nice forum!
I Have 2 humbuckers hooked up to their own series/split/parallel miniswitch, but when both the miniswitches are in the middle (split) position, and the pickup selector is in the middle position, it isnt humcancelling........
I know i have to change one of the pickup's wiring on its miniswitch, but i cant get my head around what i've gotta do....(am using seymour duncan pickups)
Thanks if you can help!

It wouldnt be humbucking anyway. Two single coil pickups cant be humbucking unless the finish wires are together and the starts are used as a ground and hot

What i would do is Split them then go to a 4 way selector which would be Neck/Neck-Bridge Parellel/Neck-Bridge Series/Bridge. Thats what they call "the 4-way Tele Mod" Then when the pickups arent split they can be in series or parellel. Oh and WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!

Larryemder,
getting a hum-cancelling pair from 2 split HBs is do-able, and desirable.
your Duncans will have 2 wires for each coil.
for one coil -- Black (+) and White (-)
for the other coil -- Red (+) and Green (-)
you probably have White-and-Red connected together as the "series link".
change ALL of the wiring on ONE PICKUP ONLY.
Red now becomes the hot, and goes where the Black used to go.
Green-and-Black are now the series link,
Green now goes where White used to go.
Black now goes where Red used to go.
White now becomes your cold, and goes where the Green used to go.
kinda wordy explanation, but i think you can figure it out.
i'd make a drawing, but i'm very busy getting ready for a much-needed vacation.
good luck,
unk
