I have a repair job to do on a 25-30 year old Ovation acoustic that has the pick-up embedded in the bridge. The bridge saddles needs reworking as the tops are all chewed up and the string heights are all over the place.
Short of replacing the pick-up/bridge combo, has anyone ever repaired one these before? Any suggestions?
Thanks

Am I right in assuming that the pickup assembly itself is alright and works fine?

Pick-up works fine.
I have just finished refretting and making a new nut, but this plastic bridge/pick-up combo is pretty weird.
It looks like silicone is used to isolate the piezo pieces of the p/u. I don't need to touch those parts, anyway.
I think I'll crazy glue some bone slivers ( 1/16" sq should do) into the top of each string location on the saddle after cutting out the saddle to the appropriate depth.
Qualified Ovation guitar tech?? You got to be kidding.
Nobody seems to want to touch them!!

hmmm....I was thinking the reverse, I don't really know anyone with an Ovation who has ever had much of a problem with one Lutherie-wise. Most of the guys I know with Ovations have one because they wanted an A/E they would never have to mess with. The other common thread for most of the guys I know who have them.... Guitar is not their main instrument.
Have you been to the Ovation site? The .pdf for guitars covers a couple bridges, with an exploded parts view. It also says you can order parts by providing them with a model and serial number.

Thanx ux4484. Your web site suggestion was good, but you have to replace the entire bridge/p-u unit.
I just want to fix the bridge.
